Did either one of you open a bug at SuSE Bugzilla system? If so, can you
provide the bug in here please.

> Is this after a suspend?

No. Random crashes after some minutes up to one or two hours without a suspend.

> There are no errors in the Xen console? (you can get to it via 'xm dmesg')?

How to access the Xen console, after dom0 has crashed?
In any case no errors in /var/log/xen/xend.log

What happens if you do no use graphic console? Say 'radeon.modeset=0'?

Serial: http://wiki.xen.org/xenwiki/XenSerialConsole

Thought in some situations if you have a working tty you could
still invoke that command even if you hit a bug.

> In any case no errors in /var/log/xen/xend.log

right. Xend wouldn't know anything about this.

[Bug 1668] dom0 crashes randomly (SuES 11.3) even if no domU is running [ In reply to ]
http://bugzilla.xensource.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1668

------- Comment #8 from konrad.wilk@oracle.com 2010-12-20 08:31 -------
To troubleshoot this further I would need the serial output of the Xen. You
might need to hook up a serial cable to your machine to get that (or if it does
not have it, you can buy for $20 a PCIe or PCI serial card). Details are in the
Wiki link I mentioned earlier.

I am not familiar if 2.6.34 has all of the TTM patches that are outlined in:
http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/XenPVOPSDRM but it might worth checking if
that is the case.

What type of hardware do you guys have? Can you attach the 'dmidecode', 'lspci
-vvv' output please?

Sorry, Im currently running XEN 3.4 (on the same maschine). If I have more time
during the holidays I'll start the XEN 4.0 partition, wait for the system to
hang and post the serial output here (sometimes the dom0 is running some time
before the crash takes place, so I need some free time).

That is OK. You do not need a newer version of Xen Hypervisor. The fixes I
mentioned (http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/XenPVOPSDRM ) are actually in the
Linux kernel itself.

Looking at your output, it seems that the patches outlined in the Wiki and
potentially in this git tree:

http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/konrad/xen.git;a=shortlog;h=refs/heads/devel/kms.fixes-0.5

haven't been all stuck in the patch queue for 2.6.34. You can try to patch the
kernel yourself with those patches and see how that works.
