With evolving legislative and political landscape within the country, we limited the number of out-of-country organized Wikimedia contest support within Tatar Wikipedia + looking at other risk management strategies to keep onwiki activity of predominantly Russia-based speakers (which are currently inclinded to shy away & distance themselves from anything in the gray area).With Wikimedia RU (Wikimedia Russia) which is in the process of its local legal entity closure procedures now officially named a foreign agent (of which I'm a member until it formally closes sometime in the summer of 2024), I have further gave up of my "effective control" over related Tatar language Telegram group & news channels, had the above report to be uploaded by another ttWP admin & WUG TAT contact person, and now about to give up on my ttWP adminship.
Wikimedia Language Diversity Russia Community is going through particularly challenging times, but we are trying to support each other as best as we can. We are grateful to our international colleagues for their support in finding ways to continue delivering prizes to local communities, participating in Feminism&Folklore, as well as CEE Spring; to Wikimedia Foundation, CEE Hub and WUG Turkic for continuing providing support for our language community reps to keep taking part in respective Wikimedia events whenever appropriate.
