Applicants wanted for Chapcom
Please forward this email to other mailing lists, or to people who may
be interested.

As many astute observers have noticed, the term for several members of
the current Chapcom was up at the end of May. Several people
affiliated with the Chapcom, mostly our staff of advisers, have left
and now we need to fill the spots. I'm going to update the roster at
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/ChapCom tonight to reflect our current
membership situation. We are looking for members and advisers
(advisers especially!) who are interested in working with chapters and
volunteers from around the world. Enough members are a necessity for
speedy communications and decisions when it comes to our existing and
applicant chapters.

Diversity is key, we need people who are multilingual, people from
different cultural backgrounds, people with different perspectives,
etc. For intra-committee communication we really need people who can
communicate with some level of english, however.

If you, or somebody you know is interested in joining the chapcom,
send an email to chaptercommittee-l@lists.wikimedia.org. Include your
name, a little bit about yourself and some of your ideas and opinions
about Wikimedia's Chapters. Also, feel free to contact me or other
members of the chapcom directly if there are any questions or comments
about this. We're looking to expand within the next month, so don't
hesitate if you are interested!

Let everybody know. Thanks,

--Andrew Whitworth
