I spent the entire evening troubleshooting the INVALID_PAYLOAD_TYPE error. I
found that in my case it was generated because of the low encryption option.
What I am trying to say is that I used

#vpnc-connect --application-version "Cisco Systems VPN Client 3.7.3
(A):Linux" --enable-1des

and it worked perfectly.
