No, extracting those records from DNS should be done in any case. About
"starting from scratch", that's just my opinion, and it doesn't mean we
couldn't make use of the old records. I guess what I'm really advocating
is not to adopt any of the old records without thorough review regarding
correctness and necessity. I don't care whether or not we call that
"starting from scratch". ;-)

I don't think so. "foo.zone" and "bar.zone" are in the same zone, yet one
might have an A record whereas the other yields NXDOMAIN. Am I overlook-
ing something?
