Oh, now I see it. That would be "spf1-test.mailzone.com.", which is the
same one the Mail::SPF::Query tests are using.

No, extracting those records from DNS should be done in any case. About
"starting from scratch", that's just my opinion, and it doesn't mean we
couldn't make use of the old records. I guess what I'm really advocating
is not to adopt any of the old records without thorough review regarding
correctness and necessity. I don't care whether or not we call that
"starting from scratch". ;-)

I don't think so. "foo.zone" and "bar.zone" are in the same zone, yet one
might have an A record whereas the other yields NXDOMAIN. Am I overlook-
ing something?

Agreed.

In the absence of further comments, I went ahead and fleshed out the test
suite development page with our plan:

http://new.openspf.org/Test_Suite

I'll be working on 1.b and 1.c for now.

I gathered the old test data from Wayne's test suite[1] and the "spf1-test.
mailzone.com." and "spftest.org." DNS zones. I haven't got access to
Shevek's libspf2 Subversion repo yet, so I just extracted the test data
from the libspf2 1.2.5 tarball for now.

This is what we've got so far:

http://new.openspf.org/source/project/test-suite/old-data/

You can `svn co` it from:

http://www.openspf.org/svn/project/test-suite/old-data/

Currently only council members have write access to the repo (the user name
and password are the same as for the rest of the website), but if anyone
else wants to help working on the test suite, please ask me for an
account!
