New Red Hat Package und how things are progressing...
Hi all,

Peter Vrabec, the maintainer of the Fedora sysklogd package has created
a RPM file for Red Hat. It includes a patch that integrates klogd into
the rsyslog package. (klogd is installed under the name of rklogd). That
removes rsyslog's dependency on the original sysklogd package - many
thanks, Peter!

The RPM can be found here:

http://people.redhat.com/pvrabec/rpms/rsyslog-1.13.1-2.src.rpm

I am now working on integrating this patch. I need to do some testing on
the other Distros. I am positive a new release will be due soon.

Peter also expressed some interest in working with us to get rsyslog
better integrated into Red Hat. We appreciate that very much. As it
looks, that will start another round of new features und functionality
in rsyslog.
