Bounty ideas
Has anyone ever done a bounty-based feature request?

I'm just curious about how to get various parts of ripMIME improved (namely, OpenTNEF and ripOLE) and was considering
offering bounty rewards. The problem I have with the bounty system is that multiple people can end up doing a lot of
work but only one person gets their solution implemented and paid for, hence it's rather 'unfair' and tends to induce a
lot of ill emotion in the community.

Anyone got other ideas?

Paul.

Yes, definately, I already generate enough crap code to keep everyone amused. There are times when I go back through
code and wonder to myself exactly what I was doing at the time, perfectly sane coding decisions at the time seem to turn
into expressions of delusion a few weeks later.

Why not call for sample code submissions and improvement ideas and then
pick who you want and then pay them to do what you want done. This way the
'applicants' have less of an investment. Perhaps you could nominally pay
unsuccessful applicants for any of their ideas that you incorporate.

cheers, Phil
