Summary: Route is not updated from bgpd/zebra to linux kernel
Product: Quagga
Version: 0.98.6
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: blocker
Priority: Very High
Component: bgpd
AssignedTo: maintainers@quagga.net
ReportedBy: cdelaunay@quazal.com

Hi,

We are using bgp with 2 ISPs both ISPs just send us default route to our router.

On the configuration side we have 2 ISPs, the first ISP require a simple
configuration (one peer) and the second ISP require a complex setup (loopback
with 2 peers).

When I check the route in bgp, I can see that I get the both default route from
my provider which is ok. Zebra update the kernel route with the default route
from my first ISP.
However, when I run some connectivity test, I end up in a situation where, if I
unplug my second ISP internet link, the router is still working fine and packets
are routed since the route is already in the kernel table. But when I unplug the
ISP which have the default route in the routeur kernel table, then zebra remove
the default route from the table, but never update the table with the default
route from the other ISP (which have the 2 peer and the loopback configuration).
When I plug back the connexion of the first ISP, then quagga put back the
default route of that ISP, but this never works for the second ISP, which is
weird not normal.

I thought that quagga will have to update the kernel route, but it's not the case.

Is a bug or bad configuration ?
