I have rebuilt beta1 with patches a-d and Tim's memory stats patch
applied. It *definitely* leaks - memory stats follow:
Memory allocation statistics after compilation: (buckets 8..16384)
17968 free: 118 34 59 14 15 2 2 2 4 0 0 0
129488 used: 138 222 1093 690 49 6 10 14 1 0 0 1
Memory allocation statistics after execution: (buckets 8..16384)
40704 free: 388 638 228 118 18 12 2 0 3 0 0 0
6357248 used: 636 2434 8028 4138 350 28 1326 4918 2 1 0 1
This was generated by only processing the first 1000 records of a 17,000
record file. 5.001m processes the entire 17,000 records without growing
to more than 750K. beta1 is up to 6.3Mb with less than a tenth of the
file processed.
Some other funnies I noticed: firstly, running Configure with a
-D DEBUGGING_MSTATS does not add this to cflags, despite what the
documentation says.
