Just in time for Haloween -- a visit from the Great (Patch) Pumpkin :-)
I've just finished patch.1n. It's big -- too big for mailing. Even
gzipped and uuencoded, it's still > 200k, and I don't trust the
mailing list to handle it correctly.
Instead, I've uploaded patch.1n.gz and the full perl5.001n.tar.gz
distribution to
ftp://ftp.wpi.edu/perl5/Incoming/patch.1n.gz
ftp://ftp.wpi.edu/perl5/Incoming/perl5.001n.tar.gz
and I hope John can move them over to the main perl5 directory
sometime soon. In the meantime, the files won't show up with a 'dir'
command, but you can still retrieve them if you give the correct
file name (as shown above).
Or, if you want, I can mail patch.1n.uu to you directly.
There are some problems with the 5.001n that I hope to resolve in the
next few days. Meanwhile, let's not put it out too publicly until
we've ironed out the wrinkles.
I've tried hard to apply only 'known' patches and do so in a way
that doesn't cause Larry needless duplication of effort, but I probably
didn't totally succeed. Sorry :-).
I'll send the patch description in a separate note.
Have the appropriate amount of fun,
