Another peculiarity I have noticed with import:
I get warnings from perl -wc on things that show up only once in the code,
even if they were exported by a package that used them more intensively. Could
this be related to compile-time checking vs. run-time checking, as Tye pointed
out earlier? I'm not sure about wrapping my entire script inside an eval...
