Error running on LinuxPPC 2000 Q4
All -

I'm having a strange error running ntop on LinuxPPC 2000 Q4. Has
anybody here successfully gotten this running?

The ntop version I'm trying to use says it's version 2.0.0 (in
version.c). I downloaded it from the snapshot server around 10:00
a.m. EDT, 6/12/2001. I compiled and installed all the prerequisites.
ntop seems to compile just fine, but when I run it (I just type
"ntop" as root), I get this error:

ntop: error in loading shared libraries:
/usr/local/lib/libntop-2.0.so.0: R_PPC_REL24 relocation out of range

This error unfortunately makes absolutely no sense to me. Do I need
to find an Intel machine I can run this on under RedHat? I'd much
rather do that anyway, but we're in the process of transitioning from
hosting on MacOS to hosting on more server-centric operating systems,
and we have an overabundance of PPC hardware for me to repurpose
(i.e., Intel hardware is at a premium).

Thanks in advance for any help, pointers in the right direction, flames...

Preston,
I run ntop on my iBook 2001 with Suse 7.1 PPC installed. If you want I
can send you the binay although I would like to find out what's wrong
with Linux PPC.

Cheers, Luca
