No FES experience but we are getting ready to to tag translation on some
4802's and some 4000's. One thing to keep in mind is that the translation
is per port group. On the 4802 that is a gig port and 24 ports. We don't
have a high port density so the waste doesn't really hurt us. The gbic is
more the issue.
