RE: Hostnames in Nessus report?
Thanks for the info - however it is not (completely) working for me.
I ran the gui, checked the box you suggested, put the IP of the target in
the box,
and ran the scan. The gui correctly showed the name in the report.
However, when I run Nessus from the command line, and specify html as the
output
type, it still shows up with the IP address in the report, not the name.

I checked my .nessusrc file after the scan and sure enough, it correctly
says " reverse_lookup = yes ".

Click on "do a reverse lookup on the IP" in "scan options". Then start
the scan.
Alternatively, I guess it's easy to use perl on the .nsr report to do a
post-test reverse lookup.
