(Backport from HEAD, tested there a while and proofed good idea)
This reverts parts of a patch from 1.1 to 1.2.
The patch was labeld "fix of bug1411", but it seems
to also break the PDF report creation.
Therefore the filenames are again now created with a
suffix ".pdf". The actual fix of 1411 is untouched
and I verified, that both things work now (at least
for me).
I am unsure why this change happened, so better
wait with porting to 1-0-branch until it is clearified
or proofs a good idea.
