Two of us tomorrow
Sue (or anyone else),

I just woke up to the fact that I wasn't sure about where the meeting is
nor what the formalities might be. I asked someone here for assistance and
got the following directions: please look them over and holler if there's
an error.

I'd like the manager of our system, Rich Ogata, to come along to hear my
talk and perhaps a little bit of material beforehand. If some useful
discussions or possible organizational progress comes out of this, he's the
right one to follow through.

I don't know how formal NANOG meetings, but if there's a problem with
registration or whatever, I'll be happy to take care of it on the spot or
later.

I'll try to get there comfortably beforehand, but don't panic if you don't
see me; I may have to cut it tight. I'll bring a small set of overhead
transparencies, and I'll keep the talk short.

Thanks,

Steve

I will attend for the first time. Someone tell me, so I don't
make an ass out of myself with sneakers, T-shirt and baseballcap
worn backwards :)

bye,Kai

Actually, for entirely different reasons, I probably will be in a suit.

What I meant to ask is whether attendance is controlled via
pre-registration, etc. or whether it's ok to simply show up. I don't any
sense of the scale of NANOG. I'm hoping it's pretty informal.

Actually, I think the rules state that if you wear a suit, you have
to wear open-toed sandals (no socks) or you'll have to sit in the
back rows, or between Sean and Curtis, whichever bothers you least.

I think the baseball cap on backwards might also be a sign of normality
which would cause initial wariness on the part of others @ NANOG.

But sandals, shorts, t-shirts <= x <= slacks and button down shirt (tie
strictly optional) hit the middle 90% of attire pretty well.

21st & H is correct, and there is parking in the garage below the Marvin
Center-- I think this is for staff, and it seems to be pretty full during the
day. There is, however, additional parking within a block or two- I believe
the closest is 22nd & I.

People that are not familiar with DC might also make a note that this is in
the NW quadrant of DC-- instead of driving in circles through SE DC looking
for GWU. This should help: http://www.gwu.edu/Map/H22.html

Now I'm sorry I have to miss this one. I'd love to see Sean in a suit!

Sean wasn't wearing the baseball cap backwards last time I saw him at NANOG,
but otherwise, you just described his attire.
