No Videos Found
I'm having the same problem mentioned recently by another user:
MythVideo doesn't find any of the videos in the indicated directory.

Under "Video Settings"->"General Settings", I set:

Directory that holds videos: /usr/mythtv/video
Starting parental level: 4 - highest

The permissions seem fine:

[root@media video]# ls -ld /usr/mythtv/video
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Aug 5 16:57 /usr/mythtv/video
[root@media video]# ls -l /usr/mythtv/video
total 2982936
-r-xr-xr-x 1 root root 1397194812 Aug 5 16:05 CBSnews.mpg
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Aug 5 16:54 foo.avi
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 5136320 Aug 5 16:57 test.mpg
-r-xr-xr-x 1 root root 824639424 Aug 5 16:20
TheSimpsons-7848-0.mpg
-r-xr-xr-x 1 root root 824543168 Aug 5 16:23
TheSimpsons-7849-0.mpg

Under all the "Videos" subcommands ("Browse Videos", "Video List",
"Video Manager"), I get the message "No Videos Found".

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Ellen

Re: No Videos Found [ In reply to ]
Ellen,

I may be the "another user" you are referring to. I ran into this issue when
I did the install from rpm's (apt-get install mythtv-suite). I have since
installed
the CVS and am not having this issue.

Are you also seeing No Videos found in the Manage Videos section? I am
a noobie myself, but I got the impression that this section added your video
to the database so it then appeared under the browse-type sections.

If its not that simple, further thoughts below...

Based on my recent experience, I am wondering if the rpm updated the
database as is required by mythvideo. The rpm page does say that you still
need to configure the software after you install the rpm's; I wonder if that
includes the db configuration steps. You might check your database
and see if the tables are there. I am not sure what the table/column names
are, but perhaps someone on this list could answer that.

Steve B.

PS - As I say, I am a noobie as well. Just sharing what I would try. I hope
I am not sending red-herrings, but I do not know for sure.
