Help with Video 4 Linux 2
I can't get the v4l2 patch to work after I apply kernel patch
2.4.21-rc2 and if I apply it before 2.4.21that patch won't install.
It errors with "Reversed (or previously applied) patch detected! Assume
-R [n]"
I tried answering yes and part of the patch does install and some
installs if I say no. This seems like I'd be asking for trouble to use
this setup.

I have an nForce2 motherboard and I think I need the IDE driver in the
2.4.21-rc2 patch.

The real issue is I'm missing tuner.o and videodev.o. I guess these
are created with the bttv driver when you compile the kernel.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I really want to get this setup this weekend. Everything else is
compiled and I just need the drivers for the pvr-250 card to complete
the setup process.

TIA

Are you trying to apply the big patch or the split-out ones? I
believe most of them are already included in 2.4.21-rc2. The only one
I needed to apply was 11-v4l2-api-2.4.20.diff.

Where does the tuner.o and videodev.o get compiled in? Do I need to
build the bttv module? I must have missed those instructions. I was
following the ones in the ivtv/docs/capturing.txt.

The MythTV part of the installation has went quite well. Thanks for
all the hard work Isaac and company.

Yes. Or at least that is sufficient to get them compiled, if not necessary.

RE: Help with Video 4 Linux 2 [ In reply to ]
You get videodev.o by compiling V4L as a module, if you compiled it into
the kernel, you wont get it as a module. To get tuner.o, just select the
BTTV card in menuconfig to be created as a module, it will make tuner.o
for you.

Good luck,
Andy
