Are Alpha Tags working?
Just having a play with some themes and I was trying out the Alpha
tag. Looking at Graphite I see there is a background image to the
menu buttons which uses this tag:

<imagetype name="menuscrollback">
<area>-8,580,1296,30</area>
<filename>images/menuscrollback.png</filename>
<alpha>200</alpha>
</imagetype>

but no matter what I change the value to nothing seems to take effect
(I've cleared out my theme cache on every change).

I've also noticed that the recording icons (hd, subtitles, etc) in
blue-abstract are completely visible when they also should be using
the alpha tag.

Anyone else see this or is it just my build???

Cheers

You are using the QT painter, which does not support alpha in .22.

Pretty sure it's set to OpenGL... or at least it should be.. Will double check

Please don't top post. Anyway, no, it's not. Alpha is definitely
working fine in supported painters in both trunk and .22-fixes.

Yep, it's set to opengl. I have been turning it off as opengl isn't
very vnc friendly but it's on at the moment. Tried switching from QT
back to OpenGL, but that made no difference.

It's very likely that even though the setting is set to GL, that it's
failing at startup and falling back to Qt. Alpha is working fine w/
the GL painter (and in trunk, with Qt too).

There's definitely a configuration issue of some sort at hand.

you're absolutely correct.. just fired up one of my frontends and the
alphas are fine (although it makes the interface very slow so I had to
set it back to QT).

Now to figure out why it's falling by to QT.

Thanks Robert.
