Hi,
I moved into a flat that used to have Sky. The dish and all cables
were still there. I had an ancient DVB-S card (Twinhan DST 1020). I
hooked up everything, loaded all the drivers - all devices seem to be
there:
#find /dev/dvb/
/dev/dvb/
/dev/dvb/adapter0
/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0
/dev/dvb/adapter0/net0
/dev/dvb/adapter0/dvr0
/dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0
So I thought - perhaps I should try to scan for some channels. I
presumed that the dish pointed to Optus B1, so I got the list of
channels from http://www.lyngsat.com/optusb1.html, created a file for
dvbscan:
# cat OptusB1-160.0E
# freq pol sr fec
S 12456000 V 22500000 3/4
S 12483000 V 22500000 3/4
S 12671000 V 22500000 3/4
scanned:
# dvbscan ./OptusB1-160.0E
scanning ./OptusB1-160.0E
using '/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0' and '/dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0'
initial transponder 12456000 V 22500000 3

and ... nothing happend, I can't tune into any of channels.
I'm an absulte n00b regarding dvb (in any kind, shape or form) but I
was hoping to actually get something going. So now a few questions:
1. Should it work at all? (ie whether using a sky dish and the card i have)
2. If so - what have I missed?
thx
