WinTV-HVR 3300-HD Linux Support
Hi,

(also posted to support@hauppage)

Have just bought a PCIE WinTV-HVR 3300-HD on a Linux (Fedora 15) machine.

http://linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Hauppauge indicates support for this
card is unknown.

On boot the machine tells me ....

[   23.056699] cx23885[0]: Try to pick one of the existing card configs via

[   23.056706] cx23885[0]: Here is a list of valid choices for the

The machine happily finds the PCI PVR-150 also in the machine.

Is there a timeline for supporting this card using the ivtv tools, is
documentation available for the hardware so I could contribute to the
ivtv project?

Thanks

The wiki is broken, or else I would change the status from "unknown"
to "no". The device is not supported.

There is not currently a timeline. Like the 4400 and 5500, the 3300
uses both DVB-S and DVB-T demodulator chips for which there is
currently no driver. Somebody would have to write those drivers from
scratch in order for any of those products to be supported.

In other words, it's not a case of just needing to add a few lines for
another board profile.

Cheers,

Devin
