HVR-1600
I have a HVR-1600 dual NTSC and ATSC tuner card model Hauppauge model 74551
LF rev C1A3 on Fedora 9. I cannot get MythTV to recognize the card.

"LSPCI" returns:

02:0b.0 Multimedia video controller: Conexant Systems, Inc. CX23418
Single-Chip MPEG-2 Encoder with Integrated Analog Video/Broadcast Audio
Decoder

When I type "dmesg | grep cx18" returns to a new command line.

However when I enter "grep cx18" the CLI hangs and I have to shut down
Putty.

What's going on with this card?

Cheers!

You just might not have the driver, what happens when you try "modinfo cx18"?
If you don't have it installed, there's more information on how to get it
here: http://ivtvdriver.org/index.php/Cx18

Or you might want to try a newer distro like Fedora 11 (I checked and it has
the cx18 driver). Fedora 9 reached it's end of life just a few days ago so you
won't be receiving any more security updates.

Also, although running "grep cx18" appears to hang the terminal, that's
expected behavior. grep is just waiting for data from the standard input
(notice that when you type something like "I like the cx18 driver" and press
enter it repeats it back to you). Just press ctrl+c to kill it and all will be
well :)
