PCI bus errors return 0xffffffff. A new kernel and drivers with a
busier, more I/O intensive boot sequence may be triggering it.

1. Make sure lspci -vnn shows real numbers and not ff's.

2. Unload and reload ivtv module.

If that doesn't help, try removing the card, blowing out any dust and
reinstalling the card.

Andy

lspci hung up my server immediately, so I blew out the dust and
reinstalled the card and de memory. Apparently 2.6.25 was more dust
proof. The pvr500 is now up and running, but there is a minor nuisance .
After a cold boot I have to rmmod ivtv;modprobe ivtv to get a picture
instead of just noise. After this a warm boot just works fine.
