Gnupg 1.02 and AIX
Hi !

Has anyone managed to get gnupg-1.0.2 to work on AIX 4.3.2 (RS6000) ?

I have managed to compile gnupg only if --with-static...=unix and w/out
dynamic modules... (compiles with aix cc and gcc-2.95.2 (with -mcpu=powerpc)).
(randlinux / randegd modules won't compile).

But the gpg binary doesn't seem to work correctly. Importing a public key
works but trying to generate keys / encrypting hangs gpg (nothing happens)
and if I use ps ax I get strange awk process...

Any help appreciated !

-Jarno

I just figured out how to compile it here.

CFLAGS="-g -O2 -mcpu=powerpc" ./configure --enable-static-rnd=unix
-disable-dynload --disable-asm

Mine also seems to hang when generating a key. ps shows awk process.
However, after about 10 seconds, the key begins to generate.

Let me know if this helps . . .

John Goodleaf answered this question recently - I had the same problem and
found the answer by looking in the archives. You can find his post at
http://lists.gnupg.org/gnupg-users-200008/msg00068.html

Works fine for me now.

Regards,

Jessica
