i just had a brief printing crisis, which i have now solved.
when i couldn't even print a test page,
i added 'debug' to cupsd.conf & found libgmodule-1.2.so.0 was missing,
then searched the Forum & at once found the explanation.
it appears that one of the links in the printing chain,
presumably Ghostscript, needs Glib-1.x , which i had unmerged
in the belief that it was used only by Gkrellm-1 , which i have dropped.
can anyone tell me why some part of the regular CUPS printing system
requires an otherwise obsolete library ?
