I've been trying with firefox to connect to my.calendars.net/tremont
this evening. My gentoo workstation cannot resolve the IP.
Just for the heck of it I fired up my vmware windows xp box and it loaded
the page just fine. The IP on the XP box is set manually, using my linksys
router for dns.
on my workstation i have manual ip config and i'm using the linksys router
AND my ISP's dns servers.
here's my /etc/resolve.conf
domain lowmips.com
nameserver 192.168.1.1
nameserver 206.74.254.2
nameserver 204.116.57.2
search lowmips.com
when i try dig my.calendars.net, here's what i get
scorpaen@teh scorpaen $ dig my.calendars.net
;; Truncated, retrying in TCP mode.
;; Connection to 192.168.1.1#53(192.168.1.1) for my.calendars.net failed:
connection refused.
anyone got any idea as to what's wrong with my workstation?
