Evolution and SSL
Hello all.

This is a little off topic, I apologize. I just made a clean install
of Gentoo and thought about giving Evolution a try for my mail client
(Pilot integrations gives me another excuse to ditch my PocketPC and go
back to Palm). ;)
My mail server requires SSL though. I read a help page online that
tells me there should be a "Use Secure Connection (SSL)" under the
"Receiving Mail" tab... but there isn't. I set the proper port, but
Evolution just keeps "Scanning folders in 'IMAP server ...'".
My 'make.conf' does have 'ssl' in it.
Should I kill Evolution and re-install? Is there something extra I
should be looking into?

Thanks!

Nick

Hi,
Using Evo & POP3-SSL for a long time w/o problems. Recently had some due
to change in the way it auth to the server. As i installed Evo-2.0.2 it
stopped working no errors but also no messages. Even more strange thing
is that this also happened to sylpheed-claws and Thunderbird (my alt
mail clients).
Checked server settings in Evo - reverted back the setting to use
digest-md5 to auth. and left always-SSL as it was.
It started working again.
