Gnome okay...still troubles with nvidia
Hi,

Gnome is working...but still troubles with nvidia.
I installed nvidia-kernel with emerge and added nvidia to
modules.autoload so that nvidia module will start when gentoo boots.
I did of course a modules-update

When gentoo boots, nvidia is not starting but i get a fault that it
can't be loaded.
When i perform a modprobe nvidia i get:

FATAL: Error inserting nvidia (/lib/modules/2.6.7-gentoo-r11/nvidia.ko):
Invalid module format

The nvidia card is a nvidia quadro pci-e series

Anybody any idea why this is not working ?
Thnx!
Phil.

You have to compile the driver with gcc 3.3.4, or it has that error.
I've tested kernel / nvidia drivers in all possible combinations - and
that finally did it.

Hi,
Yes i also had problems with evo-2.0.x but using POP3 & SSL and using
GCC-3.4.2 too. As i didn't wanted to go back to 3.3.4 solved this by
changing auth from 'password' to 'digest-md5' - had some bad time,
beside Evo, Thunderbird and sylpheed-claws also couldn't connect & work
until changing auth. Evo-1.4.x worked OK.
