Kernel options required in order to run ipchains
Hi - Can anyone tell me the required network kernel options in order to run
ipchains (I know this better than iptables at present)? I'm running
genkernel kernel-4.4.20-gentoo-r7.

Thanks - Alan

you want iptables, I believe. In 2.6.x;
Device Drivers ->
Networking Support ->
Networking Options ->
[ ] Network Packet Filtering (replaces ipchains)

You probably mean 2.4.20 (unless kernel development has sped up
drastically).

ipchains is deprecated. Use iptables. It's not that hard to learn.
