MD5 Failed during emerge
On two different gentoo systems (one x86 other amd64) emerge -f is failing (on
different packages) because of failed md5sum checks. Is there a problem with
my ststems or are the source files really corrupt?

emerge -f -u --deep world
...
!!! Fetched file: libtiff-lzw-compression-kit-1.5.tar.gz MD5 FAILED! Removing
corrupt distfile...
...
!!! Fetched file: xv-3.10a-gentoo.tar.gz MD5 FAILED! Removing corrupt
distfile...

Any suggestions? Should I provide more information?

Thanks

Whenever I have had a persistant problem with failed MD5 checksums for
a package, it has been a problem with a specific mirror. I would try
placing a different server at the front of your GENTOO_MIRROR list in
/etc/make.conf.

Re: MD5 Failed during emerge [ In reply to ]
I got the exact problem with the file
libtiff-lzw-compression-kit-1.5.tar.gz, too.
