mounting a 1394 CDRW drive - where is it?
Hi,
I'm used to using 1394 hard drives under Gentoo and have no
problems mounting them, but this morning I attempted the same with a
CDRW/DVD+-RW drive and cannot find it. I have lots of modules loaded.
(Probably too many...) ohci1394, ieee1394, sbp2 which are all required
for hard drives. I also seem to have sg, sr_mod, sd_mod and scsi_mod,
none of which I think are required, but I don't know for sure.

Is anyone else using a 1394-based CD or DVD drive?

In dmesg I see the following when I plug in the CDRW:

ieee1394: Host added: ID:BUS[0-00:1023] GUID[413f0200b723013d]
sbp2: $Rev: 1231 $ Ben Collins <bcollins@debian.org>

Not very intresting. When I add a hard drive I get some additional
info for the drive which looks about right:

ieee1394: Error parsing configrom for node 0-01:1023
ieee1394: The root node is not cycle master capable; selecting a new
root node and resetting...
ieee1394: Node added: ID:BUS[0-00:1023] GUID[0001d20000030fc1]
ieee1394: Node changed: 0-00:1023 -> 0-01:1023
scsi0 : SCSI emulation for IEEE-1394 SBP-2 Devices
flash mark $

At this point I can mount the drive, but cannot find the CD. Any ideas
why, other than Linux-1394 just not supporting it. (Yes - the drive
works under Windows...)

Thanks in advance,
Mark
