Does search work for you in firefox1pre? I like the new findbar and

It works for me. But I must select with mouse a rendered page (i.e., give
a focus to page).

It seems to do all thew searces fine, and you can choose to highlight
all the matches, but I find I have to scroll through the page myself,
it wont move when I chose next.

Also changing between pages, especially larger ones, is not as smooth
when there is a search open.

I've got firefox1pre installed on three machines and search doesn't
work on any of them, although there is a commonality between the
machines (me), and I am far from flawless. Also, it takes two clicks
on the X to close the new findbar.

My workaround is the google bar extension which is able to do all the
searching within a page that I am used to.

U may want to checkout bug 64196.

http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=64196

Modify the ebuild to "myconf="${myconf/typeaheadfind/-typeaheadfind}" and emerge
it again. Remember to "rm compreg.dat" under firefox default directory.

I sure miss just typing a search string. Anyone know how to get this
behavior back?

Your solution worked perfectly for me. Thanks for the quick (and
brief) info on how to fix this.

I'd recommend anyone else with this problem follow these easy
instructions to get it working again.
