emerge -s no updating with glibc after emerge sync ?
After emerge sync I emerge -s glibc:
* sys-libs/glibc
Latest version available: 2.3.4.20040808
Latest version installed: 2.3.4.20040808
Size of downloaded files: 15,381 kB
Homepage: http://sources.redhat.com/glibc/
Description: GNU libc6 (also called glibc2) C library
License: LGPL-2
But I when I cd /usr/portage/sys-libs/glibc,I get the output of ls like this:
ChangeLog glibc-2.3.3.20040420-r1.ebuild Manifest
files glibc-2.3.4.20040619-r1.ebuild metadata.xml
glibc-2.2.5-r9.ebuild glibc-2.3.4.20040808.ebuild
glibc-2.3.2-r11.ebuild glibc-2.3.4.20040918.ebuild

Why not glibc-2.3.4.20040918 the output of "emerge -s" is?

Best regards,

Beginmail

glibc 2.3.4.20040918 has not been tested fully and is not known to
work properly yet. Installing it might break things. Because of this,
the gentoo devs have made it not installable - when it is tested
properly it will show up as an upgrade.

I found a line in the newest ebuild of glibc:
KEYWORDS="-*".
I do not know why this will happen.

I don't get you. There is the file "glibc-2.3.4.20040918.ebuild". What
are you looking for?
