prelinking for a faster desktop
Hi,

After reading about prelinking I wanted to give things a try and tried to
emerge prelink. Regretfully I got this:

[blocks B     ] dev-libs/libelf (from pkg dev-libs/elfutils-0.94-r1)
[blocks B     ] dev-libs/libelf (from pkg sys-devel/prelink-20040317)
[ebuild  N    ] dev-libs/elfutils-0.94-r1  +nls -(uclibc)  793 kB
[ebuild  N    ] sys-devel/prelink-20040317   880 kB

and I don't really understand it. From the man page I understand that
dev-libs/libelf is blocked by files from elfutils. But elfutils is new and
should be installed? At least, at this moment it's not installed and neither
is prelink..

Someone who can enlighten me?

Thanks,
 Gerhard

I think dev-libs/libelf is blocking the other packages, not being
blocked by them. If you unmerge dev-libs/libelf you'll be able to
install prelink.
