cups & turing printer off and on
Hello,

I used to use lprng before, currently I'm using cups.

Now when I turn my USB printer off and on (I usually have it turned
off when not in use), cups has the printer in stopped state and I must
manually start the printer to get the queued jobs printed.

This is quite cumbersome and was not the case with lprng.

What to do? Is there an option to change this? Move back to lprng?

What printing system do people generally prefer? Does cups have real
advantages over lprng? I just tried it out of curiosity.

TIA,

Peter Mutsaers
