You should use a 2006.0 stage3 tarball for the installation:

Hi there!

I decided to set up GenToo linux on Sun SparcStation 5. Since this
computer is quite old (32 bit architecture, 170MHz CPU) I need a bit
older version of Getoo (I do not think that this old hardware is
supported by new versions). So my question is where can I find the
Gentoo 2004.x LiveCD for SPARC? I did search ftp archives but
unfortunately I was not able to find it.

Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease help.

That CPU, the turbosparc, is unsupported in linux. It is a completely
different cpu to any other 32 bit sparc. Solaris and the BSD's do support it.

Now I'm completely lost. Please, just send me a link to the proper iso
of this BSD. I'm really tired with this searching and the situation
looks hopeless.
