init.d solution

So after some further reading and prodding the folks in #opendarwin, my
previous idea of using finks Daemonic and/or implementing some
init.d->StartupItem tool doesn't seem so ideal.

As of OS X 10.3/Darwin 7.2 we have /etc/mach_init.d and
/etc/mach_init_per_user.d, which contain simple .plist files that would
make using templates fairly easy...

Heres some additional reading:

Ideas? Flames? Comments?
