64bit kernel
Hi,
I am debating booting onto the livecd vmlinux64 image and from here
using genkernel to generate a similar file. Would I need to completely
reinstall and then are there any advantages to this (eg. Speed)
Thanks
GS.

No, you can switch between 32 and 64 bits kernels without recompiling.
The Linux userland is 32 bits anyway.

I dont know of any particular advantages of running a 64 bits kernel,
in fact, word has it that a 64 bits kernel actualy makes some tasks
considerably slower.
