heads up: hardened-sources-4.1.4 panic on boot
Hi!

Subj happens on my 2 servers with different hardware, but both servers are
32-bit. So, be careful when upgrading to 4.1.4-hardened on 32-bit systems.

I had some oops related to hardened using 4.1.3-hardened-r1, but those are
gone after the advent of 4.1.3-hardened-r3 and so on.

I see two similar bug reports, I suppose:
https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=558280
is a duplicate... Am I right?

I've been seeing intel-iommu.c glitches during early boot without any
symptoms apart from the kernel log messages for some time now. It was
introduced many kernel versions before and I cannot really get closer to
it, since it is a really early log message.
It is possibly related to this bug with the exception that my systems
works just fine:

reload page with re-sending POST.

It happens.

Anyhow, can people please test 4.1.6. I'll rapid stabilize it but I
don't want to trade one issue for another.

If you want to play it safe, you can only rapid stable it on x86 where
the alternative is worse. I've upgraded a bunch of amd64 machines to
4.1.4 without issue.

is there some new issue on 4.1.6 that is not in 4.1.4 or is it just out
of caution?

i read that one but it's not new to 4.1.6 apparently, so i think
the right call was indeed to skip 4.1.4 for good.
