Some questions about Chinese tranlation of Gentoo documentation.
Hi, all.

I have some questions about translating of gentoo documentation projects.

Let me introduce myself first. I'm a Chinese language user ( I'm from
China mainland) of Gentoo Linux for about 3 years.

I've found the link of Chinese language version of gentoo documentation
had been removed for at least half year. AFAIK, Gentoo Linux has some
users in China, a documentation in native language will be nice.

After reading Translators Howto for Gentoo Documentation. I guess maybe
Chinese version of documentation was not updated for a long time. Is
there any Chinese language translator leads or follow-up guys right now
I can get contact with? If no, I would like to help. Since I spend lots
of my time with Gentoo, I think I can handle translating these documen-
tation and keep them updated.

It is good if you give me some information or directions.

Thanks!

Hi

The easiest way to start contributing translations is through the Gentoo
Wiki. There is specific support for translations on the wiki, and
documentation about it is on it as well.

I don't know who is still working on or responsible for the Chinese
translations and language support, but if no-one steps up on that, we can
get you started for translating the Gentoo Handbook as well.

Sven Vermeulen

Hi, Sven

I didn't realize that there already has translation support for Gentoo
Wiki. Will try that.

Meanwhile I would also like to get Chinese version of Gentoo Handbook
back. I've tried to get contact with Joshua Saddler but with no response.
I don't know if there is any translators responsible for Chinese transla-
tions, either. So I would like to help if that is ok.

Thanks.

Zhang le (robot) is the leader. He organized the Chinese translation of
handbook and monthly newsletter. But they are not updated.

Do you have any contact with Zhang? If Zhang is still available for
organizing translations, I think we can submit updated translations to
Zhang and let him(her?) commit to CVS.

Otherwise I haven't much options but checking out from CVS, then file a
ticket on bugs.gentoo.org to update handbook and other documentations.
