To whom it may concern,
The OpenAFS ebuilds have been unmaintained for more than a year now. Even
though ebuilds and patches have been submitted in Bugzilla, only trivial
ebuild changes have been made in portage. This is especially of concern
because the version of OpenAFS in Portage is incompatible with 2.6
kernels.
If the current developers are unable or unwilling to apply
patches to the OpenAFS ebuilds, perhaps someone new should be given the
task. Several people have submitted patches for OpenAFS to Bugzilla, and a
few have volunteered to maintain it. I might suggest that one of these
people could be given the task of maintaining OpenAFS.
Anyway, many thanks for anything that can be done.
Sincerely,
John Ranson
