Same here. Weirdly enough, I got the error trying to do a binary emerge on my laptop after I had already successfully emerged app-office/libreoffice-4.2.8.2 on my desktop.

I haven't had any time to really look into it, but I did briefly check out that link but it only got me more confused.

The instructions at that link are obviously for gentoo package
maintainers, so it'd be bug-checking, and if nothing shows up, bug-
filing, time.

(But for the following specific instance, see below.)

Based on a gentoo blog post (linked below) I just read on the gentoo news
feed, the bug above ONLY happened with binpkgs, and should be fixed now.
Unfortunately, that means rebuilding the package from sources. As he says,
at least it's winter (well, northern hemisphere, too bad if you're in the
southern or equatorial I guess); happy heating! =:^\
