but this site http://www.linuxraid.org/ was very helpfull for me today,
since I was unable to compile 2.2.18 + RAID + ReiserFS
Also it has some valuable hints on fine tuning of Linux kernel.
(note: it hase one large patch file at the very bottom of page)
