You have to comment existing POP3 service from /etc/inetd.conf
and to run killall -1 inetd.

Igor,

The old pop server is already deactivated... the only one that is
configurated in xinetd is dbmail-pop3d...

Anything else that could help me?

Thanks!

run dbmail-pop3 as a daemon, not from inetd, dbmail doesn require inetd
super server

Yes If you ran it as a daemon youd be done, i wouldnt recommend running
it from xinetd, just run it as its own server process

My suspicion is that you have dbmail-pop3d configured to run as a
daemon, but then put it into xinetd... the SECOND invocation can't
bind to port 110, because the first invocation is still running.
