I'm not sure what gave you that impression, but the DAViCal and AWL-code
is written in PHP, which never necessitates any 'make'ing (ok, ok, you
could create a phar, but that's not relevant/necessary here :)).

Either by using git, or just visiting the website:
https://gitlab.com/davical-project/davical
Click the 'download zip' and expand to /usr/share/davical

And repeat the same for AWL:
https://gitlab.com/davical-project/awl
Click the 'download zip' and expand to /usr/share/awl

That should give you the latest stable version of both packages.
