I couldn't imagine running CallManager on a machine I couldn't pull a RAID
drive on. I'm a relative Windows newbie, but I have never been able in 6
years to use NTBackup or its derivatives to produce a bootable backup drive.
Having said that, here's a trick we use: buy a Promise RAID card ($79 for
their FastTrak100 TX2) (or use your favorite brand) and stick it in any old
PC. Plug your CCM hard drive in one of the card's RAID 1 ports, and a
duplicate (or at least as-big) drive in the other. When the Promise BIOS
boots up, go into the Configure Array menus, and configure a RAID 1 mirror
using the CCM drive as the reference. When it's done, you now have the
equivalent of a pulled RAID drive. I would stick it in the CCM box just to
be sure it really works, but we haven't had it not work yet.

I am planning a Call Manager upgrade and I am looking for a faster "recover"
method if the upgrade fails. The environment is a single CallManager
MCS-7825 with out a RAID drive to pull before the upgrade.
