Production environment CM & Unity
Is anyone running something other then a 78xx as a CM or Unity box in a
production environment? We are looking at replacing our ICS 7750 with
some beefy Dells. Any comments? I'm sure Cisco won't support the
hardware, but if I keep smartnet on it, would they support software?

TIA

Nope, no support from Cisco.

There are a line of "customer provided servers" from HPQ/IBM that are
supported.
Otherwise OS install has hardware checks to disallow install on
non-supported platforms.

We run Unity on Intel and Compaq DL380's without any problems.

That's correct for CCM, but it doesn't matter for Unity.

Yes, those are reccomendations, but unlike the CM installation, it will
install without checking the hardware.
