[nsp] 5300 Qwestion
I have a 5300 with a PRI and 6 port mica modems.

I would like to use 5 modems for dialin and one

modem for dialout at 9600 Baud. I have IOS

(C5300-IK9S-M), Version 12.2(10)

I have configured:

interface Async6
description Modem Dialout Pool
ip unnumbered Loopback1
async mode dedicated
line 6
location oob Dialout
flush-at-activation
modem InOut
modem dialout controller t1 0
terminal-type vt100
no exec
transport preferred none
transport input telnet ssh
transport output telnet ssh
autohangup
Re: [nsp] 5300 Qwestion [ In reply to ]
going to have to configure Resource Pool Management(RPM) to only allow
incoming calls on the first 5 modems. How are you inititating the outgoing
call on the last modem?

Josh,
I plan to use the 6th modem for Out of Band access to other Cisco
equipment that has USR Sportsters modems on either their console or
modem port. I would just Reverse Telnet to the 5300 using port 2006.
Telnet 198.10.xx.xx 2001. I can do this now but can't force the 5300
to use 9600 baud.

ok cool. you dont need the async interface configured then...but it wont
hurt.

try ats30=9600
