what do you mean by "flash"? do you want to erase the config? if so search
cco for "password recovery"...just dont do the step where you do a "config
mem" or whatever.

Get real close to it and lift your skirt?

Seriously, perhaps you might want to start here:

How do I regain the OS for the mt350 scanner?

Jeffrey,

You have sent several questions to the cisco-nsp mailing list. You should be
able to find answers to all the questions you have asked by checking
google.com. Questions to this list should be cisco related, preferably of
concern to network service providers.

For some information about IP addressing, try:

If your concern is how to make enough room on your 2500 for an IOS upgrade,
the process is simple, and manually "flashing" the memory is not required.
Since the 2500 were EOL'ed and have typically small memory mods, the process
is very straight forward and clean.

When you begin the process by copying the new image to the 2500 from say a
tftp, it will ask you if you want to confirm overwriting the existing
contents of flash (if there isn't enough room for both images).

When you confirm and have entered the IP of the tftp server, the system
automatically reboots, loads ROM, erases contents of flash and copies new
image from tftp. The system reboots once more and your automatically put in
the new image.

Fairly straight forward.

Kevin

RE: [nsp] question [ In reply to ]
IF the bootrom supports such an operation, which they don't all do. I
recall having to upgrade a pile of 2500s for Y2k (cisco didnt y2k certify
10.x) and having to get console access on the older ones to help the
process along manually. Plus there is the paranoia factor, I am not sure
I trust -anything- to do what it is supposed to automagically without
atleast being able to watch the process via the console. But I am a
paranoid bastard.
